Primary Colours

For the painter the three primary colours blue, red and yellow are the triangle of forces for the structure of colour composition. Although blue is not just blue there is something universal about it that unites all its different shades. We will study and experiment each of these universes; tracing their dynamic characteristics and individualizing them to image.

• A study of the basic language of the painterly surface and relating this to each of the source colours
• Performance workshop
• Figure and nude drawing/painting as a basis for observation of surface movement, gesture and line
• Painting technics including watercolour, pigments and inks
